Measure Your Pet - Pet Shipping - Courier - JetSet Pets

How To Measure Your Pet Correctly   In order to determine the best travelling experience for your pet, it’s essential that we know its size. After all, you don’t want your beloved family member put into a travel crate that’s too small and uncomfortable. Your pet must travel in an IATA approved travel crate to ensure both its safety and comfort. If you don’t own a travel crate or are unsure which size will best fit your pet, we can help you choose the one that is the most appropriate. At the time of booking, simply provide us with your pet’s measurements. This will prevent any unexpected issues from cropping up.     IATA Approved Travel Crates Requirements What should you look for in an IATA approved travelling crate for your pet? Airlines advise that your travelling pet should have enough space to stand up, lay down, move freely, as well as eat and drink while inside the crate. There must be ventilation on all four sides of the crate and your pe...

Avoid pet scams targeting animal lovers

Unfortunately we regularly receive calls and emails from victims of scams. Criminals using our company name or a similar name persuade victims that they are offering a legitimate service. Sadly, victims are often left out of pocket and disappointed when a pet they are expecting to receive never appears. Importantly,  JetSet Pets does not offer animals for sale or rehoming, nor do we work with breeders or animal shelters to transport pets. If anyone offers you these services claiming to be us, it is a scam and you should cease all communication with them. How do the scams work? Typically in these scams an advert is placed online for a fake kitten, puppy, dog or cat to be purchased or rehomed. The ‘seller’ arranges the transport of the pet to your location for a fee and may even provide you with tracking details. The animal never arrives and the victim has been defrauded of hundreds or even thousands of dollars. What should I do if I think I’ve been scammed? If you t...

What to Know About Flying with An Emotional Support Animal

You’ve probably heard on the news about incidents on airlines involving emotional support animals. Perhaps you’ve even had a less-than-pleasant experience yourself. This is a huge topic, one that has greatly affected our industry. Airlines are incredibly frustrated, and they are taking action to protect their passengers and staff. Here at Starwood, we work with pets every day, helping them travel comfortably and safely to all corners of the world. We’re animal lovers and pet parents, too. We appreciate how a pet can provide emotional support as well as physical assistance for people with special needs. However, no one appreciates the fact that some people are obtaining online certificates for supposed emotional support animals that are, in turn, putting passengers at risk. A few travelers have actually been attacked, and more and more passengers are complaining about allergies, barking and other noise, foul smells, and filth. Some people are taking advantage of the...

A few tips for keeping your dogs cool during the hot UAE summer

Image
The UAE summer is here again with the temperatures already having gone past 45C some days. So how do you keep your dogs cool and exercised during these hot months? For walks, go out before sunrise and after sunset, with just a tiny pee break in the middle of the day. The sidewalks and roads will be burning hot, so make sure to use doggie boots for bigger dogs and carry smaller ones to a shaded area for the midday pee. If you have a garden with real grass or sand areas, that is great. The artificial grass can get extremely hot in the sun, so please do remember that. If you can’t keep the palm of your hand on the ground, neither should your dog’s put their feet there. There are cooling vests and collars to use during the walks too. Cooling mats are an excellent option to take out if you let your dog in the garden in the early and late hours of the day, just please, do keep an eye on them.
